The Schmolti's

My brother and I have been traveling since we were young. Seeing other places, meeting new people and creating memories that will last a lifetime have always been important to us - and we put all of those memories in Schmolti's Chalet.
On January 6th, 2017, our father had a fatal accident and left us with his life project. From one day to the next we were responsible for two houses, a small farm with 11 sheep and our two cats.
It took my brother and I more than a year to get back on our feet and get back to life.
From then on, we set out to find a way to finish the project. After countless hours of work and investment of our entire heart's blood, we can now proudly present the completed project after 5 years.
At this point we would also like to thank all our friends, our family and our neighbors - without your help this would never have been possible! Thanks you from the bottom of our hearts!

Architecture & Design
The house that our father built is an absolute masterpiece and one of a kind from an architectural point of view. He worked on the house for 12 years. Made every detail special.
The original form of the house is based on the glass facade in the living room. The glasses were recycled and refurbished from the old traffic control tower at Graz Airport.
This part of the building was combined with the original "Kellerstöckl" from the 16th century, which was renovated and expanded in proper style.
The materials used for the construction come mostly from our own forestry or from local forests and were processed in our own small carpentry workshop on the farm.
Since childhood we have followed our father's carpentry trade and learned a lot from him.
Now we want to share our dream house with travelers from all over the world so that they can discover a place to feel good, relax and come back here in Graz.
