The chalet at a glance

A house tells its story with the way it was built – with its foundation, its construction, the facade and through time. Schmolti's Chalet has grown with the people who lived in it. It has adapted to their needs.

... a House,
that grows with its people.

Our father, Helmut Schmoltner, has planned the architecture for 12 years and paid attention to every single detail. We have tied in with this idea and thought it through a little further. In Schmolti's Chalet, rustic coziness meets modern architecture – creating a new experience of being home.

In a setting of absolute privacy and on three floors Schmolti's Chalet represents a place where no wish remains unfulfilled: Four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large outdoor area with 3000 m² garden, a pool and a heated whirlpool, a fitness area, a sauna, a chillout area and a private alpaca zoo invite you to stay with us – with family, friends or as a couple. We also warmly welcome your four-pawed friends – your dog is cordially welcome here too!

Schmolti's Chalet is the ideal place for everyone who longs for relaxation and simply wants to enjoy life. The Chalet offers an experience for every generation, and we look forward to providing you an unforgettable stay!

appreciating
the region

Sustainable, regional, timeless: embedded in the idyllic landscape at Zösenberg, Schmolti's Chalet reflects the values we live by.

The idea of sustainability plays a major role for us. It was our wish to create something that would last. Historical structures in the Chalet were to be preserved and at the same time, we created space for something new. A regional aspect is put back into focus. Schmolti's Chalet is not only a tasteful location – but considerate of our environment.

Regional
materials

The materials used for the construction largely come from our forestry or other local forests and were processed in the small carpenter's workshop on the farm.

The mix of different regional woods such as chestnut, oak, and ash, creates a warm, inviting atmosphere in Schmolti's Chalet.

Regional wood was also used in the interior design. Much of the interior was designed and made in- house. Various unique structures provide a very special touch: for example the massive oak tree trunk that runs through two floors and supports the wooden spiral staircase that leads to the lower floor. Wherever you find yourself in the house, little interior treasures are just waiting to be discovered.

A love for details

From an architectural point of view, Schmolti's Chalet is a remarkable one-of-a-kind. The transformation process of the house shows the different layers of time that overlap here.

With great care, the past of the house was taken up during construction and linked to the present: Old structures now form a harmonious whole together with modern elements. For example, the new part of the building was combined with the original "Kellerstöckl" from the 16th century, which was renovated and extended in keeping with its style.

The clear architectural design runs through the entire building and focuses on creative high- lights. An outstanding view was one idea behind the project:
because the shape of the chalet is based on an impressive glass facade in the living room, which reveals a breathtaking panorama of Graz and the surrounding landscape. This aspect – the view over Graz – was thought through through- out the house.
